Civil War quilt decision

Thanks for all of your encouragement and a touch of reason (from Ms. Betty Ninja). My decision on whether to begin yet another project is still a bit wishy-washy. I'm going to try to make some real progress on Sean's quilt before I get serious about the Civil War quilt. But I may buy the book and begin contemplating putting it together...pick out some fabrics, some easy blocks to start with, etc.

The stack of fabric above is from Purl Soho and is for the Dear Jane quilt. A few of these look perfect for the Civil War quilt as well...see, I'm starting already!

I think you can start mentally preparing yourself for the Civil War quilt. (And get the book and a few fabrics) :-)

I love the red fabrics! I almost chose red prints myself, so I'm excited to see the progress on your dear jane blocks.

Not sure if you're anything like me, but I tend to change my mind several times during the course of making something (not about the project itself, just about design choices). If you buy the book now, but hold off on buying any fabrics until you've finished your other projects, you'll have pleeeenty of time to mull over how exactly you want the Civil War quilt to look and it will end up even more awesome in the end! . . .At least that's how I'd reason it out. :)

More fab fabrics! Seriously, these are really good choices. I think getting the book and learning more is a great start. Never can have enough books around.

I love the beautiful reds that you picked. Lovely! You are right, I think that they will go terrific with both quilts should you decide to use them that way!

Loving the fabric...I am going to start my dj this weekend and have the hardest time selecting my fabric...what is your color scheme for your dj. I love purl soho...haven't ordered anything from there, but love their stuff.

p.s. I have just tagged you...go to my blog for details.
